Summer Orientation InformationWe are no longer accepting registration online, however you may still register in person at your scheduled orientation session. Please contact us with any questions or comments. In case you have not heard, orientation is a whirlwind experience! Conference and Guest Services is pleased to provide convenient, affordable housing and dining options for families and guests of students during orientation. Take advantage of this opportunity to experience dining and lodging on the campus your student is about to call home! Lodging for parents and guests attending orientation is in East Ambler Johnston Hall. Students will be staying in the adjacent West Ambler Johnston Hall. Accommodations during orientation are similar to what new students should expect when they move onto campus in the fall. Traditional halls have single-sex bathrooms on each floor. This type of housing is not air-conditioned. Each traditional room contains the following:
Virginia Tech is proud of Student Programs' award-winning dining centers! More than 92 percent of our current students rate the taste and variety of our food as "good", "very good", or "excellent". Orientation provides a perfect opportunity for you to spend time with your student experiencing what Virginia Tech has to offer. Breakfast and dinner will be held in D2, our newest all-you-care-to-eat dining center. Lunch during orientation will be a picnic with boxed meals. All meals offer a variety of options, including low-fat and vegetarian items. You do not need to reserve a room or purchase meals for your student.Visit Student Orientation for more information.
